In the Spring of things.....

Happy Spring Season... and welcome to our Blog...this seasonal newletter will act as a page to keep you in tune with what's buzzing at the shop.  Give you tips and some inspiration to get you fired up about the season.

This spring we are seeing tones of soft pastels pinks, greens, blues...cactus and indoor plants are perking up interiors with clean backdrops and natural wood elements to enhance.  A huge trend we love ...Macrame... love the natural linen and jute colours to assesorise and all texture in any room. Pop into the studio to see our new Macrame hanging planters.

Tip of the Month....How to keep hydrangea looking fresh and fabulous..

Hydrangea LOVE water .. in order to best keep them as a lasting cut flower.  A fresh cut is imperative (I like to slice the stem upwards as well as horizontal at base) to ensure there is a greater area for water intake.  We use a hydrating Quick Dip at the studio (available for sale in mini mason jars) to help give it a sugar rush and then direct into a fresh luke warm water filled vase.  If your Hydrangea whither...it is most likely caused by not taking up water.  Simplly soak the flowers..bloom side down in cool water ..let sit and bathe for 1-3 hrs - very important *shake off all excess water and recut stem at least 4"  place in vase of luke -hot water *we like to quick dip in hydrating fluid again as well- the stems will start to drink up properly, you should see them refreshed within 1-2hrs. The should continue to last a few more days to a week.  I often have hydrangea last 3-4 week in a vase with refreshed water at home ;)

Enhancing your exterior...

Freshening up your Front entrance can be a challenge when our Canadian Weather fluctuates so much in March and April.  We recommend adding fresh Pussy Willow Branches, faux apple blossoms, forsythia, and a few larger hydrangea blooms in faux or birds nest until we can plant into our planters.. Another Option is just forging branches and adding a faux wreath at base - easy and has great street appeal!

A beautiful Wreath can also add a punch of colour to brighten up the doorway.

As always be inspired and enjoy the Season....
